frog

The main qualm I have with this animation is the sacrifice of movement of the actual frog itself. This is mainly down to the scale of the figure and also, as we shot it on water, even minute movements caused quite a few problems with continuity, but with perseverance, this problem was eventually overcome, and this is why I am very pleased with the section where the frog tilts his head and fires his tongue.

I am also aware of a lack of narrative within this short sequence, and at the time, I didn’t think this was an issue; I just wanted to make something that was a bit of fun. In retrospective though, maybe a story accompanying the fogs river journey would have been a good idea, and also would solve the issue of this being an extremely short sequence.

All in all, I am pleased with the quality of this production (lighting, set, depth perception) but as I say, this also has plenty of room for improvement.
